There are many great things to do in La Crosse, many of which are great for families, and low-cost or free. Here we are going to explore three unique things to do in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
1.Riverside International Friendship Gardens
Tucked away in the side of Riverside Park are the Riverside International Friendship Gardens. These gardens are part of a partnership between multiple public and private agencies. The gardens celebrate La Crosse’s international partnerships with its sister cities. Gardens include China, Germany, France, Russia, Norway, and Ireland. Admission is free, and you can stroll through the 1.2 acres when Riverside Park is open. The Riverside International Friendship Gardens has information about the plants and flowers found in each garden, as well as an audio tour you can download.
Bonus Tip: A scavenger Hunt for the gardens can be downloaded and printed from the bottom of the Gardens’ About Page. https://www.riversidegardens.org/about/
2. Grandad Bluff Park
Hike up the largest bluff in the La Crosse area. The park features a viewing platform where, on a clear day, you can see Minnesota and Iowa. Once you checked out the amazing scenic views, you can hike on several of the trails that go alongside Grandad Bluff.
